District heating and cooling

District heating and cooling offer a smart and sustainable solution for supplying energy to cities, districts and industries. Heat is generated centrally and delivered directly to end users via a well-insulated pipe network. Where fossil fuels were once burned, environmentally friendly energy sources such as biomass, seawater, geothermal energy or industrial waste heat are now used.

In the connected apartments, office buildings and industrial plants, the heat from the pipe network is used for heating and hot water preparation with the aid of heat exchangers.
