Condition Investigations and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team supports you with key challenges related to existing structures and building refurbishment projects.
Condition investigations are an essential step in establishing a reliable diagnosis of a structure. In this context, non-destructive testing provides the information required for a thorough assessment of the existing structure. In addition to investigating the condition of structures, we obtain essential data, particularly where drawings are missing, incomplete or outdated.
Drawing on many years of experience and extensive expertise, we investigate a wide range of structures, including civil engineering structures, parking garages, buildings and historic constructions. We collect the information required for planning, rehabilitation and condition assessment.
With our extensive range of equipment and specialist know-how, we select the optimum tools for each testing task. Depending on the investigation method1) employed and the level of accuracy required, targeted exploratory openings may be necessary to verify the measurement results. Our team carries out the opening, assessment and reinstatement of these exploratory openings on site, as well as the sampling required for subsequent laboratory testing. Following the investigations, we prepare a clear, concise and comprehensive report containing all findings, measurement results and observations.
Our civil engineering team combines expertise in both rehabilitation engineering and non-destructive testing. In line with our principle, «global solutions are our strength», we can also draw on the expertise of other in-house specialists for more complex assignments, including structural analysis, seismic safety, surveying, fire protection and other disciplines.

- Half-cell potential measurements
- Endoscopy
- Electromagnetic testing (ground-penetrating radar, magnetic inductive eddy current methods)
- Inclination measurements
- Coating thickness measurements
- Crack monitoring
